A faulty or dirty ignition or sensor is a relatively easy fix so follow these steps and you may be able to solve the problem yourself.

When your furnace fails to ignite the first place to look is the pilot light. Because an electric ignition does not need constant power the way a pilot light does it contributes to energy savings. If your furnace is an electronic model with an automatic ignition for the pilot light but it won t light there may be an issue with the ignition. The pilot light or ignition sensor is usually the most common issue when your furnace will not ignite.
